“Gender Studies Now!” is a two-part online webinar series held on November 14 and 21, 2025, that fosters a cross-regional conversation on gender studies. Bringing together scholars from Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific (November 14), and from South America and North America (November 21), the series opens reflections on the current state and future directions of gender studies across diverse global contexts. 

“Gender Studies in Europe Forum” will explore insights, challenges, and strategies relevant to gender research and teaching in present-day Europe, engaging with questions such as: What is the current status of gender studies as a subject in particular regions? What are the connections—or disconnections—between civil society and academia? How is gender academia being targeted by anti-liberal forces, and what are the impacts on career strategies, student experiences, faculty roles, and institutional trust?

These questions will guide a discussion among scholars who bring diverse perspectives on the state and future of gender studies in Europe:
